Welcome!

Chiltern Tails is a friendly, professional and reliable pet care service based near the beautiful Chiltern Hills. Primarily offering dog walking, we also provide dog/puppy sitting, cat sitting & small animal care. Sometimes work commitments, trips away or ill health get in the way of us being able to always be there for our pets, but for whatever the reason, Chiltern Tails is here to help. We can come in and give your much loved animals all the quality care and attention they need. As pet owners ourselves, we understand how important your pets are to you and your family, therefore all animals are treated as if they were our own. Reliable, trustworthy and accommodating, you can leave your furry friends behind knowing that they are in safe hands, giving you that important peace of mind. We cover Aylesbury, Stoke Mandeville, Haddenham and other villages close to these, see the bottom of the page for more details on areas covered.

About Jess:

I have had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember. When I was 10 years old my dreams came true when my Mum told me we were getting our first dog, a chocolate Labrador named Scoobie. Since then, two more entered the family, both of which I was largely involved with the upbringing and training of. With one of my dogs, Layla, I trained and competed in agility, obedience and rally-o over a period of 8 years (with varying success!). The youngest, Taboo, developed fear aggression as a puppy and as a result of this I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge on how to handle dogs with 'issues'. I have a large interest in and enjoy everything dog related, but I love all animals, and would have a whole farm if I could! I have experience in handling small animals too. I have owned 6 hamster, two guinea pigs and a lovely rescue cat named Daisy, she had epilepsy. My Mum and I decided to set up a dog walking and pet sitting business 13 years ago, and I totally love my job! Mum moved onto different things, but I knew I wanted to carry it on and did for some years on my own. I missed the partnership of running a business though, so dangled the idea with Lou as her last Nannying job was coming to an end, and I was delighted she was so keen to join me. Prior to all that, I worked part-time at a kennels and cattery for two and a half years, which I very much enjoyed. However, it lacked the more individual and personal level of care that I wished I could have given all the dogs and cats.

About Louise:

For 6 years I worked in child care and was a fully qualified, Ofsted registered, home carer. I’ve always had a caring nature and have enjoyed looking after children over the years. However, I love animals and had hoped to work with them some day, so I jumped at the opportunity to work with Jess, one of my closest and oldest friends. Many of the skills I had from working in childcare, could be transferred to working with dogs! Having done this for 8 years now, and in covering Jess whilst she went on maternity leave to have both her children, I've gained so much experience in handling a wide range of different breeds and temperaments. This encouraged me to bite the bullet and rescue two dogs of my own.. Kokonis, Nala and Teddy. They are both from Cyprus, they settled into UK life amazingly well and I couldn't imagine life without them! I also have a house bunny, Stanley, and I believe rabbits are extremely underestimated as pets. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, I love all things nature but my pets are quite often my main subjects!

About Linda:

I have always loved dogs and grew up with one from the age of 2. He was a very special boy called Skip, a Spaniel x Terrier who lived until he was 18! I knew I'd have dogs of my own one day and ended up with 3 chocolate Labradors, (as Jess mentions above) we currently have just one remaining, aged 14. I took up agility with our first, and I was hooked! I also did some obedience training, hoopers, rally-o and scentwork with my current boy, although he's been retired some years now. Over the years we had many successes, and such a lot of fun! I qualified as an agility instructor and instructed part time in 3 clubs whilst running the dog walking business with Jess, I then decided to run my own training club full time, leaving the dog walking behind. Sadly that all came to an end for one reason or another, so I had a complete career change and have worked in a nursing home for the last 5 years. I am desperate to get back to my passion of working with dogs though, and so I've decided to team up with Jess and Lou, predominantly covering the one-to-one walks and puppy visits. I can't wait to get to know some new furry faces!
